Dental Hygienist (DH) – 1-Day Clinical Practice & Revision Program

Onsite | Hands-On Clinical Practice | Supervised Training & Personalised Feedback

Designed for advanced Dental Hygiene candidates who have recently completed an ADC preparation course and would like additional hands-on practice before their examination.

This one-day clinical practice program focuses on refining practical techniques, correcting common mistakes and strengthening performance through supervised practice and real-time feedback.

Schedule:
Monday–Friday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

What’s Included

The program provides focused clinical practice based on the candidate’s preparation needs and may include:

• Supervised hands-on practice
• Real-time correction and personalised feedback
• Individual technique assessment
• Review of common practical mistakes
• Technique refinement and repetition
• Guidance on instrument selection and handling
• Small-group training for focused support
• Limited task demonstrations where required

As this is primarily a clinical practice day, demonstration time is limited compared with our 5-day and 12-day structured training programs.

Clinical & Technical Task Practice

Depending on your individual needs and the tasks selected for your practice day, training may include:

• Local anaesthesia technique
• Taking radiographs
• Periodontal examination
• Ultrasonic instrumentation
• Fissure sealant placement
• Temporary restoration using glass-ionomer material
• Hand scaling of lower anterior teeth
• Hand scaling of upper anterior teeth
• Hand scaling of lower molars
• Hand scaling of upper premolars and molars

The day is designed around practice, technique correction and feedback, rather than comprehensive teaching of every task.

Local Anaesthesia Practice

Local anaesthesia may be practised as part of your clinical training where appropriate.

However, the Comprehensive Local Anaesthesia Course for Dental Hygienists is not included in the 1-day program.

Candidates seeking comprehensive training in local anaesthesia, including technique selection, dose calculation, complications and broader clinical application, should consider our dedicated Local Anaesthesia Course or 12-Day Comprehensive Program.

Communication Training

Comprehensive communication task training and role-play are not included in the 1-day Clinical Practice Program.

Candidates requiring structured communication training, case-based clinical reasoning and role-play practice should consider our 5-Day Intensive or 12-Day Comprehensive program.

Infection Prevention & Control

A dedicated Infection Prevention & Control training session is not included in the 1-day program.

Appropriate clinical safety and infection-control principles are expected to be maintained during practical activities.

Mock Examination

A simulation or mock examination is not included in the 1-day Clinical Practice Program.

Candidates wishing to complete a structured mock examination should contact us separately to discuss available options.

Equipment & Materials Provided Onsite

Equipment and materials required for your scheduled clinical practice are provided onsite, including:

• Manikin heads and dental units
• Upper and lower periodontal jaws
• Periodontal instruments, including Gracey curettes
• Diagnostic kits
• Radiograph holders
• Fissure sealant materials
• Temporary restorative materials
• PPE, including gowns, gloves and masks
• Hand-hygiene supplies

Please bring your own safety eyewear. All other equipment and materials required for your scheduled practice are provided onsite.

• Candidates who already understand the examination tasks and require further practice
• Candidates wanting additional supervised practice before their examination
• Candidates seeking targeted correction of specific practical techniques

This program is not intended to replace comprehensive ADC preparation for first-time candidates who have not previously received structured training.
